The brief was to design a cost effective home that still have high level finishes and quality construction. This small house is designed to make the most of light and space on a small block.
We developed this smart family house with two zones; the quiet zone - bedroom wing and open plan living area, both with strong access to the outdoor decks and garden.
Orientation maximises passive solar gain in winter and open plan living area have deliberately been designed to take advantage of the spectacular views to park and city.
Our ultimate goal is creating spaces that will add value to the way you live.
Step inside and you're immediately welcomed by an incredibly spacious open plan living and dining area, filled with natural light and designed for comfortable everyday living. The proportions here are impressive, with the space even allowing for a future staircase should you ever wish to build upwards - a clever design element that adds long-term flexibility.
The kitchen is beautifully appointed and enjoys an elevated outlook down the driveway towards Eric Singleton Bird Sanctuary, bringing a lovely sense of openness into the home. Finished with stone benchtops and generous storage, the kitchen connects seamlessly to the laundry, which functions perfectly as an extension of the space, much like a practical scullery.
High ceilings throughout further enhance the sense of space, while the home flows effortlessly out to a private courtyard where mature neighbouring trees create a peacetul natural backdrop.
